I'm supposed to meet with them in the next couple of weeks to talk about "where do we go from here." That either means they've decided to let me go, or they're gonna put a whole lot of conditions on letting me stay. My heart is no longer in it, and I'm tired of all the crap. Call it preemptive, but I'm ready to bail.... or at least, take an extended leave of absence to thing things over. I'm also ticked off that I'm 3 hours away from my Dad, and I want to spend as much time with him as I can before I lose him, physically or mentally.

I guess you could call me the Liebermann of the WI United Methodist Conference. :P

I'm thoroughly convinced that the institutional church is broken. I'd much rather be around people who aren't totally convinced that they know absolutely everything about everything. And I want to be able to leave my underwear on the floor, without fear of reprisal.

This may sound arrogant, but it's their loss, not mine. Besides, I'm not that sure that there WILL be a Methodist church in Wisconsin in 20 years. Better to move on now, rather than later.
