3. I belong to a pretty liberal reform congregation...

After the reading of the Megilla, they always do a Purim play of some sort, always a comedy. Anyway, in last night's, the man who played King Ahasheverus (who happens to be the president of the congregation) made a direct comparison to Bush and Haman. The whole congregation laughed.

4. Last year during the kids' play

the girl who played King Ahasheverus introduced herself as "King Ahashe...BUSH!" and everyone laughed!

one of the readers said, "Who is this Mordecai, who saved the King's life and who has not been rewarded with even one no-bid contract?"

Another made a joke about Vashti being the WMD.

It's a very political congregation.
