my wife called the temple in the yellow pages and asked the Rabi what the Jewish population was in town. He answered with
" admitted ? " there is Jewish humor everywhere.

The rest of the story is about a nice converation we all had about how there are Jews everywhere in the world and they share a warmth of knowledge,pride and humor.
Jewish traditions are world wide and a very important part of American culture.You are right we have nothing to be ashamed or guilty about,our sence of humor and humanity has kept us alive.
