| A serious concern needing urgent opinions |
|
I had spinal surgery 2 weeks ago, laminectomy w/ fusion L3-5 with instrumentation. I'm doing pretty well, all things considered. I have my 1st post-op appointment tomorrow, and had to go today for an x-ray. My concern is that from what I can see on the xray, the L4-5 are not lined up. They look exactly like they did pre-op. Is this normal with screws and plates?
The original pain is gone, & I seem to just have pain left over from the surgery. My BIL, an RN, who is an orthopedic home care nurse took my staples out last night, and that feels much better, although the incision site is still tender.

| 1. Don't trouble trouble until trouble troubles you. |

the fact that the pressure on the nerve roots has been relieved and you are having considerably less pain is a great sign.
Let your doc evaluate those Xrays. Just concentrate on how much better you're starting to feel now that the op is over.

Hope you continue to feel better and better each day. Sorry I don't have any insight but I'd listen to Warpy. :)
