| Quitting smoking using Chantix |
|
Okay, so I'm on day 9 of Chantix. I had one cigarette yesterday and it tasted disgusting. I think the meds will help. But, man alive, I feel so bizarre. I sleep 8 hours at night, but my dreams are so weird and vivid that I feel like I'm not sleeping at all. Sometimes the dreams are really creepy-like last night I had one in which I couldn't figure out where I lived anymore and got lost in a McDonalds. Other times, I'm convinced that what's occurring in the dream has actually happened. I'm fogged out during the day, which kind of prevents me from working well (I'm dissertating...). The nausea has mostly subsided, but I developed this weird muscle twitch on the bridge of my nose. Bizarre.
Anyway, I don't want to smoke, which is good. I've cut the pills in half, because I can't function this spaced out and scatterbrained; hopefully this will cut down on these very odd side effects.

I don't have any experience with Chantix, but I'm coming up to day 5 via the cold turkey route and wanted to send my support to you. This is the most difficult thing I've ever done, but it's so rewarding. I never thought I'd get this far.
