| Anyone here near Seattle? |
|
I have a genealogical favor I could pay a small bit for. A lot of you know I'm writing our gigantic Smith family history, and it's a little hard to obtain some of the info I need since it's pretty far away.
I need to see if someone can look in an old Seattle paper and find me an obituary. The man's name was Manford Jones, and he died September 14, 1947.
This man ("Uncle Manny" as my cousins call him) was probably born in Illinois and was in his 80s when he died. He may not have had an obit since he was single and probably living alone when he died, but I'd like to see if anything made the paper. He was supposedly an adventurer-- moved all over to Alaska (for gold hunting and railroad working), to New Orleans, California, and Seattle.
PM me if you think you can help. I can pay you for parking, copy making, and for your time searching.
Thanks for any help, ya'll. FSC

I use these sites all the time. They're usually great for LOTS of stuff. ESPECIALLY the Rock County, Wisconsin board. I actually found out the woman who runs it and I are distant cousins through marriage. Small world.
But I ended up putting in a request at RAOGK. Their volunteers have been REALLY great to me in the past. I'm sure someone will be able to turn up something.
Thanks! fsc
