http://Mediamatters.org has extensively documented the sexist attacks on Clinton, double standards imposed, etc., from multiple sources, such as the odious Chris Matthews. Although they have also documented some unfairness toward Obama, the sheer magnitude of sexist media attacks greatly outnumbers those on Obama, per their documentation. Until Obama has to face a similar barrage--and I hope he doesn't have to--he and Clinton are presented with unequal reasons for "bringing up" sexism and racism. Further, as Steinem's piece in the NYTimes pointed out, Obama is often correctly credited when he refers to civil rights progress and his involvement in it, yet any mention by Clinton of similar work regarding gender issues is labeled as divisive, or worse, by some people.
Blaming Clinton for fighting back against it is blaming the "victim" instead of recognizing exactly where the problem lies and condemning the unfairness.
Expecting Clinton to remain silent is like telling Kerry not to respond to Swiftboaters.
