| Well, I'm going to be trying the South Beach diet, but not until January 2! |

I'll be doing Weight Watchers through the holidays, but I figure I need a year's training to do South Beach through cookie season! Since the diet emphasizes several stages, I don't want to take one step forward, two steps back in resetting my metabolism.
Anybody care to set up a South Beach thread for after January 2?

My sister and I do it every year. We use nut flours instead of wheat or soy-based products. We're both celiac and eat low glycemic. My sister made a pumpkin cheesecake to die for at Thanksgiving. There are some pretty good websites that have low-carb dessert recipes.
I eat South Beach-ish already, and probably eat higher carb than what's first allowed on the diet, but I'd love to participate and support you in your effort. :-) I will probably have 5 lbs to lose after the holidays anyway!

I'll also be spending time planning menus. It should be fun; everyone else in this house has the metabolism of a hummingbird. My husband can eat more at one sitting than I do all day and not gain an ounce. Don't even ask me about most of my kids! It's me, one son and my son-in-law who have to watch what we eat and I think I need to lose more than the two guys together!
