it is a entertainment show for petes sake!

he is always calling Bernard McGurk a racist bastard, but they are scripted lines he says. it is part of the show.

he has people come on dressed as bill clinton, jerry falwell, rush, dr phil. do you think they are paying homage to them or they are satarizing them


most of what is said on the show is to point out how stupid the racist comments sound.

notice how many times immediately after bernard makes a racist comment, Imus tells him "shut up you stupid schmuck."

10. Bernie goes way over the top at times

With really disgusting, graphic stuff that you really can't call "entertainment." It's especially bad when he's doing his Cardinal Egan schtick with the FedEx envelope on his head. I admit, though, that I do find his Ray Nagin routine mildly amusing.

Then there's the bald-headed guy who does the impersonations, who's just really not funny most of the time.

I can see why MSNBC puts up with it -- a great venue to feature all of their news team and shows, because that's all who Imus ever has on.

I'm curious how he does ratings wise. I know over the years they've cut back his airtime.
