Alloycious DavidIndividuals who have been victimized as a result of Firestone Rubber Corporation's dumping acidic wastes into the Farmington River have alleged that the Management of the Plantation has offered them farming tools for the first time in an attempt to compromise a complaint filed against it to Green Advocates, a local environmental protection group.
The victims said they viewed Management's action as 'bribery', a claim Management has denied giving reasons for the donation.
The citizens and residents of the area, some of whom have completely lost visual sight and are now living in extreme poverty, disclosed that the Firestone Management through its Administrative Manager, Edwin S. Padmore, has offered them a consignment of agriculture materials in order for them to keep silent on the pollution of their river.
The citizens in their allegation added that as a result of dumping of hazardous chemical wastes in the Farmington, Firestone has destroyed every living creature in the river including animals and fish.
