31. Today CNNI was on for 2 hours

The coverage was SO different than the usual CNN (and Faux etc) spin machine. Tough questions were being asked to both sides and the information presented was excellent and, for once, my blood pressure wasn't rising. But then the regular CNN came on with 24/7 coverage of rockets burning fields and blowing small holes in buildings. The rockets are bad but hardly the worst thing happening. I didn't see the fury last Sunday, when all the Lebanese children were killed. All I heard then was that it was too graphic to be shown. There seemed to be attempts to minimize the tragedy by talking of dozens of fatalties. DOZENS? Don't they rate a number? How about talking about a gross of rockets being fired today? We don't hear of dozens of rockets. We get precise numbers.

Hopefully we begin a journey out of this nightmare on Tuesday, with lie-berman going down to defeat.

Our military is run by the rich to cater to the needs of the rich. Our electoral process is run by the rich to keep the rich firmly and substantially in power. Our news is run by the rich to protect the rich. And if the 50 million or so who voted for this fucking doorknob twice ever saw a news that had hard hitting journalists like these instead of throw pillows like Novak & Colmes, analinguists like Cavuto & O'Reilly, blowhards like Hannity and Scarborough or cheerleaders like Brian Kilmeade or (insert Corporate News Female Anchor here), that would bring about uprising, change and tossing the militarists, authoritarians and plutocrats on their asses. And we can't have THAT, can we?

Of course, if you HAD this kind of news all along, we wouldn't HAVE that fucking doorknob as a two-term President, would we?

They learned the lessons of the 60s and won't make the same mistakes again - keep their bellies full but DON'T let them get ahead in life. They are not on American TV, they do not dominate American radio, they rarely are seen in our newspapers and magazines. It took a long time for the fascists to cower our journalist and turn them into propaganda machines but they have done it. Only on the internet and a very few radio stations can you see them anymore. Every once in awhile they pop up, but they are very few and far between. We use to have the most open and free media in world. Now Americans are closed off from the truth. Just another sign of American decline.
