July Southern California Edison bill $517.86

I knew it was going to be high, but this is our highest ever.. We are on level pay and I always pay extra throughout the year, in anticipation of summer cooling bills, so I actually only have to send them 23.83, but WOWWWWEEE..even I was amazed....

but then life is too short to be sweaty :)

All of us menopausal boomers are cranking up the A/C.:)

There are millions of people who are facing bills just like mine, and who cannot pay them..

but I feel for you with that bill. We have SDGE for our power and those ceiling fans were turning.

2. Wow - air conditioning must use a lot of energy

My Southern California Edison bill for July was $32 and change for a 2 bedroom house. But I never use air conditioning (thankfully I live about 5 miles from the ocean and there's always a cool breeze and I have unplugged my big refrigerator and only use a tiny one. I had no idea air conditioning could run that high. That's shocking.

3. ouch-- mine was $40 in NorCal-- 'course I routinely wear sweaters...

...in July, LOL. The Pacific Ocean is my air conditioner. It is currently a chilly 59 F at my house, at noon on Aug 8.

4. We had about 12 days where it was over 110 every stinking day

and even at night it was only down to the 80's (and humid)..:grr:

When we finally got a new A/C unit that really cools the whole house, I said "screw it".. I am USING this puppy..

We sweated without A/C for about 5 years, so I guess I am just making up for lost time :)

5. mine was $369.98 -- the highest ever since i moved into this house

4 years ago. i knew that APS had gotten an increase so i guess this is what i can expect in the summer months. considering that the whole house is electric, even the well is pumped by electric and the septic system -- it's not that bad. we keep it set at 77.

i just thank god that we have enough money to pay it. i pay and extra $1.00 a month that goes into a fund for those who are poor.

of course, our temperatures in the summer are always between 100 and 118. even 11 pm at night it's still 100.

half of what you paid. OH isn't completely deregulated yet-- it's being phased in. I bet we get the shaft soon. :(

it was in the high 90's at midnight for a few weeks 120 degrees a few times(killed a few of my desert plants)thinking about going to Genself and adding solar panels ($25k)

15. My actual level pay plan is $137.00 a month and I regularly

$150-$200, so that when my reconciliation month (Nov) rolls around, I either have a credit or get "no-pay" months.. (Last year I had prepaid so much that I had credit balances for Dec,Jan & Feb.:)
