The complete illogic.
The request was to fight porno not terrorism. They can't separate any action of Bush from the single issue or rightly sense the porno reason was a red herring, but by the pollster not Bush! Bush's irrational core loves him for the core reason of fear. only that can blind them to everything else especially the incompetent opportunist they have to trust.
I don't think any tyrant has ever made such people so terribly pose themselves as utter fools with so little pretext, shoddy charisma or ill concealed fraud.
