Had to bring this over to du from dailykos. Enjoy!
I just bought a nice CD from a local Cincinnati troubadour called Jake Speed. It's nothing special with that, Jake Speed is very good in doing what he does but the thing was the confirmation I got from the record distributor. It was the funniest thing in itself.

They give exposure and referrals to countless artists who are ignored by major labels and corporate radio. Their customer service is out of this world -- after my first few orders, they began throwing in bonus free discs that jived with the genres I was buying from.
They're my number-one site for surfing new music -- I never leave there without adding several artists to my "keep an eye out for" list.

| 4. I bought a CD through them from an artist that advertised on DU. |

I received a similar E-mail (although not with as much humor in it). I was really impressed that they really seemed to appreciate the people who bought from their site.

I'm going to have to step up the ol' customer service to get to this level!
>Our packing specialist from Japan lit a candle and a hush fell over the crowd as he put your CD into the finest gold-lined box that money can buy.<
I have wonderful customers. I also am in a business in which women come in to my store not just to shop, but to talk. Without being a huge bummer on a funny thread, this is the kind of stuff that happens to me. The second day I was open, a lady walked in and said that she wanted to finish an afghan she'd been working on for over 30 years. I was initially afraid she was going to ask me to match the yarn. I listened for a few more minutes. It seems the afghan was for her son, who went to Vietnam and didn't come back.
Among the other merchandise I have, there's always a big box of Kleenex and a comforting hug...
