"Are you a Nancy Pelosi Democrat??"

First of all - what exactly IS a Nancy Pelosi Democrat?

Without giving a definition, these words were uttered by none other than Candy Crowley, political journalist extraordinaire (CNN would have you think) as she interviewed a Democratic candidate and lauched her examination of the Democratic Party, trying to determine "what's wrong with Democrats" and coining another phrase - "the wuss factor". There's currently a poll on CNN's home page that asks "Do you think the Demcrat's wuss factor is real?":

Apparently, according to Candy Crowley, there's a A LOT wrong with the Democratic Party, especially among southern rural Democrats. She pointed out that in the past two presidential elections, neither Gore nor Kerry won a single southern state. A lot of this, she say, has to do with "the wuss factor" - Democrats are seen as not able to take a stand. A lot of it has to do with, in one word - guns.

It's apparent to everyone here at DU I'm sure that Candy Crowley is not a fan of Democrats, so I take whatever she reports and whatever slop comes out of her mouth with a "meh". It does anger me a bit though that CNN would have her do this piece and still, despite what looks like a landslide by Democrats, she degrades our party at every turn.

Ms. Crowley closes this article by interviewing a former Gore advisor (who remains nameless):

"Any success we have in 2006 is largely going to result from the failure of the Republicans in Washington and the success of individual candidates who identify themselves despite the disadvantages of running under the Democratic label."

And back to that question - "Are you a Nancy Pelosi Democrat?"

After watching Ms. Crowley (remember she didn't define the question) - I got the idea that if you're one of those, you're a radical left-wing nutcase, soft of terror, without a plan. Her feature on the Democratic Party is nothing more than a hit peice meant to divide us among ourselves.

Can't wait to hear what she has to say after we win and Nancy Pelosi becomes Speaker of the House.

Of course there are differences in the Democratic Party; we are not homogenous; I consider that a good thing. It's just another way they demonize us.

to start forcing the news whores to do their job. We need to let them know Dems today aren't like the ones of long ago, we're not mealy-mouthed appeasers. We're going to hold the media accountable and make them do their job or run them out of business.

Dems today have learned to define ourselves independently of our leaders. Unlike the GOP, our Dem leaders answer to us, not the other way around.

And OMG, please don't use the word "wuss" and Candy Crowley in the same paragraph. <shudder>

5. "Are you an unattractive bloatmeister political hack posing as

a neutral observer?" That gun shit is a red fuckin herring. I'm probably very close to her stereotype of rural Democratic voter (not southern) who own and occasionally use guns, and I believe that gun owners have a lot more to fear from big government repubs (who are already in the process of eliminating several amendments) than from Democrats. It'll eventually occur to these assholes that they can control us a lot easier if we don't have guns and there goes the 2nd amendment as well. And how will they find these guns? A good place to start is the membership rolls of the NRA which I think will be turned over to them without objection (if they haven't been already).

8. My main problem with Nancy Pelosi is that she needs to take a stand

If she won't press El Diablo to the fullest of her ability, including calling for his impeachment after a few grueling sessions before Conyers and the House Judiciary Committee, then maybe Jack Murtha would be a better choice for Speaker of the House.
