| Could stopping Alito be the tipping point? |
|
could standing up to the g.o.p. on this be the moment when the tide really turns? if the democrats actually grow a set of testicles, what would the republicans do?
remember elementary school? you stopped the bully in his tracks by punching him in the nose. if those idiots in congress were to stand up, they'd suddenly have momentum on their side and hastert and frist wouldn't be calling the shots.
the right wing can go on all the talk shows they like. call all the names the like. scream at the tops of their lungs if they want. the right thinks they have this in the bag and think the left is cowed.
this may be the best opportunity we have to show them it's not the case.

|
Ted Kennedy so much since the hearings? The R's want to win and win big, on this one.

I think they want a big win, and I think this WOULD BE a big win for them--it's vital that Democratic leaders oppose it.

It would be good.
But if we fail to stop Alito, is that a tipping point, too? Will the Republinazis just run right on over us as the weaker among us give up hope and flee to Canada?
Big weekend coming up, boys. Suck it up.

| 7. America has to see strong Democrat block on this... |
|
the people need to see it and more so...The base needs to see it. We have to know they are listening and standing up. The GOP has to be concerned that even at this late in the game, there is still resistance. There is Strong resistance. WE WILL NOT ROLL OVER!

| 8. The Huston Plan, The REX84 Plan, and now the Bush Plan |
|
to constitutionally 'suspend the constitution'.
Alito and Roberts, while working on executive orders and 'constitutionality' issues would most surely have had Ollie North's Rex 84 Plan cross their desks for approval.
The executive orders would have required Alito as DOJ/Office of Legal Counsel to the WH to give opinions on this plan, which was a 'suspension of the Constitution'
First Nixon tried it with The Huston Plan, then Reagan with REX84--and he succeeded using executive orders. Now Bush is implementing it during undeclared 'wartime' using the end-run to Congress of AUMFs, 'authorizations for use of military force', resolutions issued by Congress who then abdicate their Congressional war-making powers to an officer, Bush. This is completely UN-constitutional and the War Powers Act of 1973 shows that clearly.

| 9. Alito cannot be stopped. He cannot. All that can happen is he will |
|
be delayed. Or a new Alito clone will be put in his place. Bush has the numbers. He will place someone on the Supreme Court this year.
