I have viewed the last 6 years of the Bush junta as sort of an American analogy to what it may have been like in Germany in the early 1930's as the Nazi's were coming to power. This is a time to stand up and be counted --- and I think the recent election somewhat reflected that undercurrent. The electorate sensed and sent a message that things were spinning too far out of control. When I hear Pelosi and others in the Democratic leadership categorically state that, "Impeachment is off the table" (even well before the election!) I have to wonder WHAT exactly would it take to even consider the impeachment of Bush? Clinton got his thang sucked. Bush has raped the Constitution and our Bill of Rights and done everything in his power to destroy the checks and balances envisioned by our Founding Fathers. He and his Party have manipulated and stolen elections. He has engaged in an undeclared, illegal, "preemptive" war causing the deaths of thousands of our brave troops and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis (including innocent children.) He has been caught in lie after lie. He has callously used fear to manipulate the masses and Congress. Cronyism, hardball and corruption at the highest levels, reaching right into the White House (Halliburton, Abramoff, Delay, Gannon, etc.) are rampant in this regime. Bush is openly committed to stacking both the Supreme Court and unbalancing the Federal Judiciary with extremist candidates. Our Treasury is bankrupted and we are in debt so incalculably high it blows the mind to try and even comprehend the numbers. We are now hated around the world and known as a nation of torturers. We have "signing statements", "patriot" acts, warrantless domestic spying and no more habeus corpus. Again, WHAT does this administration have to do to merit a charge of impeachment?
