| Want to start winning people over for next year? |
|
I keep reading people here who hate on all republicans. They all automatically think they're bad people when they aren't. Ignorant, sure! That's why we're here and there are other media outlets. Instead of calling people who have an (r) after their name horrible name's and writing them off like some people want to do you should want to convience them to vote democratic at least next year. That's all that matters to me personally because it's our last chance. We have to show them how the current republicans in power don't care about them as people. There are people out there who aren't worth talking to who will never give you the time of day. I'm talking about the fundies and freeper types and we know all about them. But I think we have to stop fighting with each other and instead use our energy to educate people. Each person has a different little ticker that might make them vote democratic. Did they lose their job? Show them why. Are they worried about gas prices and transportation going up? Show them why. Are they worried because they have no health care insurance and worried about themselves and/or any family members? Show them what we have to offer! As being the only true-blue liberal in my family full of republicans I know how it is. I'm always talking to people in my family about various things. This previous week I was at my grandmother's on my mom's side and had the chance to talk with an aunt of mine and we talked about the Katrina victims and I made a mention to remind her that it was the republicans in control and how they're not doing anything for them. My grandmother on my dad's side a good bit before Thanksgiving confessed she no longer is a Bush supporter and she voted for him twice. She said she was doubting him and even whether or not he was a Christian or not. How this came about? Beats me. I didn't ask, she would've told me if she wanted me to know. Now it's up to me to get her to vote democratic next term. My dad and I voted for the same person for mayor so as the next election comes around I can try to get him to vote democratic and he watches the "Daily Show" and Stephen Colbert's show. Not every single person out there with an (r) after their name is bad. I used to want to be a republican but my views on things changed and the party is just too religious for my liking even though I'm a Christian myself (I just don't feel comfortable with the two mixing). So basically this post is just to say instead of bashing people and labeling them work on getting them to vote democratic at least this next time around in 2006. Than we can worry about 2008 and how we're going to get people to stay democratic or vote democratic who haven't before. My mother used to be a republican but thanks to George she's now an independent and she told me after the whole Terri Schavio ordeal she was going to vote straight democratic in 2006. So there is hope for people out there. Figuring out how and why for each person is different. So let's get passed the labels and work on getting our country back. With or without the voting machine's. I believe we can do it if we stop fighting and bickering. Thanks for reading and I hope I didn't offend anybody.

| 1. Well, I got no one to win over |

Been weeding them out of my life since 2000 and now there's none left. So I guess your post is directed at someone else.
Seems to me that Bush himself is doing a pretty good job of recruiting Democrats lately.

Remember the "I'm a uniter" line? He's united everyone against him. Even my once supporting Bush grandmother now doesn't like him.
