MSNBC's Olbermann now "go-to guy for antiwar rhetoric"; words entered into Congressional Record

MSNBC Host: Now Playing in Congress

If he didn't make so much as host of MSNBC's Countdown, Keith Olbermann might be asking some very prominent lawmakers for speechwriting fees. That's because he's becoming the go-to guy for antiwar rhetoric. And, we're told, Olbermann's show-ending "special comments" have been entered into the Congressional Record at least twice. The last time occurred this month when West Virginia Democrat Nick Rahall, wowed by Olbermann's hit on President Bush's troop surge, called to get permission to include Olbermann's comments in Rahall's own House floor speech.

Hell, even his sports segments were great back when he was in local TV here in L.A. I worked in the newsroom there (just down the hall from him - sigh...) and, ordinarily, the sports segment was when I'd take a bathroom break if I needed one. Just not that into pro sports. But when Olbermann hired in and started doing the sports segment, I never missed it.

President Bush's war in Iraq has now gone longer than America's involvement in World War II. Now we learn President Bush intends to escalate the number of American troops in Iraq. The great question across the land today is: is more of the same the answer? Will more of the same stabilize Iraq, or for that matter the Middle East?

In all this long war in Iraq, we cannot help but wonder, what if?

What if we had not gone to war?

What if we had listened to that very important and vocal minority who stood against the war when the President led us down that misbegotten road? Oh yes, I agree we are where we are today and we need to get out of this mess together. I have been patient since my no vote on this war four years ago and my yes vote almost 17 years ago for the first Gulf War.

Over 3,000 have already lost their lives, and that's only the Americans. One journalist in particular, is asking 'what if' on his own. Keith Olbermann, host of Countdown with Keith Olbermann has asked:

Last night when talking to Michael Musto about Trump's Hollywood Star, Keith went off on a string of riff about local sportcaster (and his former co-worker) Jim Hill here in LA. It was funny as hell, at least what I could follow. It seemed like Musto was getting all the inside riffs. What's the story here, especially on the Strip Club crack? :)

Jim's always seemed like a non-offensive homer nitwit when doing sports, while Keith was of course the offense witty guy doing sports out here at KCBS.
