He appears to talk some sense. I'm disappointed to learn he voted for Clinton's impeachment.
I also express sorrow that he lost his home. Some conservatives change their views when tragedy happens to them. Ok I'll make an exception, Trent Lott, who also lost his home probably will never burn his white Klan hood and sheets.
As for Gene Taylor, he has criticized Allstate and State Farm insurance companies. Most conservaties do not criticize private industry and will come up with any excuse to shift blame away from companies and blame government, poor people, people on welfare instead.
Gene Taylor makes Haley Barbour look like Attila the Hun.
The more I see Gene Taylor and Bennie Thompson speak for Mississippi the more I forget about Haley Barbour and Trent Lott, 2 confederates born in the wrong century.

Katrina, Taylor said there oughto be a registry of insurance agents like there is for sex offenders so citizens will know whether one lives next door to you. I'll take Gene as my rep because I know what the alternative would be.

The ultimate Blue Dog...
One of the few Democrats to vote in favor of Clinton's impeachment.
When it comes to Katrina, I feel for this man. Lost his home and has been an outspoken critic of the regime, leader of getting reconstruction help for the Gulf Coast and fighting the insurance companies.

His last three GOP candidates make him appear to be a Kennedy by comparison. Our country does not need whomever the republicans would nominate to replace Gene Taylor representing South Mississippi.

I'd almost move a few miles across the border to have him as my rep. Wonder if he'd consider national office?

tree-hugging, bedwetting, latte-drinking, merlot-sipping, volvo driving ultra-liberal and I LOVE Gene Taylor! Perfect fit for his district. Sure he's conservative on social issues, but he wouldn't have been elected if he wasn't! But when it comes down to the alternatives, and speaking truth to power, I don't see anybody else filling his place.
