Keep in mind this is the same speech, although I believe the second one was written by a neocon sympathizer. I also believe this was Al Gore's way of defusing, or at least to ameliorate the explosive situation in the Middle East after the cartoon riots. To me Al Gore is attempting to isolate, not declare war against Iran, he is also reaching out to the Arab people letting them know, the American People do not condone the abuses or torture that the Bush administration has embraced. To those who think pot should not call kettle, Al has forcefully spoken out against our own government's corruption as well, most recently on MLK day, this only adds to his moral authority.
