LA buys bottled water while promoting tap supply

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Records show Los Angeles city departments spent tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars on bottled water even as officials waged a (m) million dollar campaign to promote the quality of tap water.

According to records provided by City Controller Laura Chick, city departments spent nearly 89-thousand dollars on bottled water during the past two years. The Department of Water and Power bought the most, paying 31-thousand dollars to Sparkletts, during that time.
