My conversation with a freeper today:

I was eating lunch with a friend and another lady I had never met. My friend is from New York and mentioned Hillary Clinton. She asked if I thought she was going to run for prez in 2008. I said well it's really too early to tell.

The other lady (the freeper) said to me "well, do you like her?"

I said "As a person or as a potential president?"

Freeper: "There's a difference?"

Me: "Sure there is. I admire her a great deal. I think she is brilliant. But I am not sure I want her to run for president."

Freeper: "Well, I can't stand her. Neither can my husband"

Me: "Why not?"

Freeper: "She has a lying scum for a husband."

Me: "So you don't like her because of what her husband did?"

Freeper: "He lied to her and to the American people. She apparently doesn't care if he lies."

Me: "I don't understand how you know what she thinks about what he did. I certainly don't remember her making any public statements about it."

Freeper: "Well, he's a liar. And part of the reason we are having so many problems with foreign countries today is because of his policies."

Me: "I saw on the news this morning that there are 100,000 people in India protesting against bush today. I didn't hear that any of them were mad at Clinton."

Freeper: "Well, Clinton is a fucking liar."

Me: "So I take it you think he was a bad president."

Freeper: "You got that right."

Me: "So if you are using lying as a criteria, then I gather you dislike bush as well."

Freeper: "That's not what I said."

Me: "But when I asked you why you didn't like Clinton, you said he was a liar. You admitted not liking his wife because HE is a liar. So I take it lying is an important sin in your book."

Freeper: "Well, Clinton lied."

Me: "So you must hate bush too since he lied us into war. You know no one died when Clinton lied. But so far, almost 2300 of our soldiers have died in Iraq. Do you know how many died on Clinton's watch?"

Freeper: "Well, I can't stand Hillary. I like McCain."

Me: "I am not surprised."

By this time, my friend was kicking me under the table. LOL

Logic apparently escapes freepers.

She made two points: Clinton lied and she likes McCain. That was the entire conversation on her end.

My favorite stupid-freeper conversation was about how evil Clinton was because of his actions, some bitch's brats learned about oral sex.

She had the personal betrayal, then the obscenely public airing of all the painful details (thanks, Ken Starr, choirboy-NOT) to deal with. Somehow she rose above it. Who knows how she really feels about it, or about Bill, for that matter, but I admire her not letting the sex-obsessed, hateful Republicans decide when her marriage was over.

Now, me, I would have kicked him out the door the minute I found out the truth, President or no -- and I like Bill. But I think Hillary has stuck it to the VRWC nicely, and perhaps has even rebuilt her marriage.

I like Sen. Clinton. I like her policies. I don't think she can win a national election, however... BUT... it didn't take guts to stay with him. I think she loves him, but guts wasn't what it took.

My ex-husband cheated on me. And that's why he's my ex. It took more guts for me to kick his cheating ass out than it would have to simply live with that.

In any case, I enjoyed your conversation. I've had similar ones, although I always point out that only Republicans seem to want Hillary. Most Democrats I know want Wes Clark or Russ Feingold or Al Gore. ;)

P.S. I just read further and agree, whole-heartedly, that her marriage is HER business. Not mine. :hi:
