| 4. Erm..well, New Orleans is in a flood zone. |
|
FEMA isn't supposed to put trailers in a flood zone. :eyes:
The folks running this government need to have their critical thinking skills adjusted for the reality based world. But with George&Co, I don't think that is going to happen any time soon. This government is FUBARed.

The MSM has reported this and few politicians have asked questions about it, but there has been been no outrage about it. The ports deal has fired up everyone, but this hasn't. Thousands of people, Americans, kicked into no-where land, $300,000,000 worth of trailers rotting. There are no words that adequately express the insanity.

I read that and thought I'd lost my mind, too! We have homeless people--and empty trailers--and can't bring them together? I absolutely don't get it...

instituted rent control, many apartment landlords reacted by closing up their buildings and refusing to rent to anyone. Yet, the streets and beaches were crawling with homeless. Some of the buildings went empty for years.
Also, there were old boarded-up buildings lining the beach that had once been hotels that were perfectly functional yet they went empty. These too could have provided halfway housing for homeless families. Our legislators just can't bring themselves to come up with a solution to this problem and there is a solution, but they won't do it.
