In the bake sale, club members hawked cookies and brownies at prices that varied according to the buyer's race to bring attention to what the group felt was unfair college admissions and financial aid practices for minorities. White men were charged the most and African-American women the least.
The way club President Mark Prinzinger handled resulting criticism and his refusal to mend fences with minority student groups "summarized an entire semester of poor leadership," spokesman Adam LaDuca said.
Dominic Burlark, a junior, until recently the club's only black member, will serve as interim president until the end of the spring semester, when a president will be elected for the 2006-07 academic year, LaDuca said.
Prinzinger, who is Korean-American, said the vote violated group bylaws and he would continue to plan events and lead meetings. But LaDuca said, "Dominic is our president. Whether Mark likes it or not, that's what the general membership feels."
LMAO!!
