| 6. People still stuck in the primaries and new Dems. |
|
Maybe people upset about the elimination of the GLBT desk at DNC.
Who knows? With the motley crew of Dems we put up with at this point, I don't know how anyone can bitch about Dean.
He is the least of anyone's problems.

| 5. I gave him a B. DNC needs to expose GOP control of media and vote machines |
|
and do it in a fullfrontal assault.
Aside from that, I think he's on the right track for the most part.

| 7. Howard's In For The Long Haul |
|
He is singlehandedly rebuilding the party infrastructure nationwide, and in the face of much misunderstanding, grandstanding, and confusion. He's only one man, and he's found a quiet place in which he can do important work. Go, Howard!

| 11. I am just genuinely curious |
|
How is he an A?
I think people are reacting just because they like Dean and voted for him in the primary, rather than based on anything he's done in his capacity as DNC chair.
The poll isn't how much you love Dean, it's how good a job he is doing.
What has he done, seriously? I'm not bashing, but I don't really have any tangible way to judge his performance. "Building grassroots"? Give me details. How much money has he given to state parties and what are they doing with it? What is he spending his time doing?
It seems that there's a little too much knee-jerk reaction on this thread. It's next to impossible to get an objective opinion of Dean's job performance here.
FWIW I didn't vote because I have nothing to judge him on. What has he done?

I hope it works. However, what he's trying to do is very long-term; in other words, I don't feel it's really possible to grade him yet.
It's sort of like he's submitted a terrific thesis, but I'll have to wait until he turns in the entire research paper before I can judge the results.
If Dean pulls this off and the Democrats are competitive in "red" states within 10 years, he will certainly deserve accolades from the entire party, as well as being honored as one of the best DNC chairmen ever.

| 14. That's certainly a legitimate position. |
|
My feeling is that he deserves applause and encouragement for digging in and doing what the Dems have been neglecting for years. His success can't be judged yet, true, but I think he deserves high marks for the progress he has made (and for doing what he said he would do).

I love everything he's doing, I just wish he would do it on a daily basis. Republican heads explode everytime Howard opens his mouth. He should "kick it up a notch". He's got them on the run.
