| 2. Wow, I hope Reid him earlier asking if all the Dems would be supporting |
|
Feingold's censure motion ~ he was great on Russ Feingold today. He said Russ 'couldn't be more clear on the issues' and that Dems need to support his censure bill ~ 'the president lied' Ed said and he thinks Feingold is doing the right thing ~
He's on a roll today ~ and he asked 'where is Sen. Reid on the censure bill?' I'm sure he'll ask him ~

| 3. He's saying that 'Feingold didn't shy away from the word Impeachment' |
|
He says Dems don't seem to know what to do, but if they believe Bush broke the law, there's no downside to voting for censure'.
'Either we're a nation of laws or we're not', Ed says. 'And don't let the Republicans give you this 'we're fighting the war on terror'! He says they'll try that, but this has nothing to do with the war on terror ~
He asked a caller 'how many do you think will vote for censure'? She said she thinks most want to, but that Senators aren't sure what the people want, but she believes people are angry and they want this. Ed agrees and says 'Feingold got out ahead of this' that 'people know about this cabal in the WH' and he asks 'what's the downside to this?'

| 5. Ed says it's a line for the Democrats |
|
and not the elected ones. I think he's spot on for this one, too. Democratic Senators that vote no are cutting their own throats. But, hey! They're smarter than the voters, eh?

| 9. Yes, he's got Sen. McDermott on now and he asked him what downside |
|
there was to voting for this. Sen. McDermott says there is NO downside to it. He said the president if violating the Constitution and if all the Dems voted for it, it would put pressure on the Republicans to do something.
Ed and he both feel that Dems should vote for it ~ looks like Feingold will have Sen. McDermott on his side ~
He's saying now (Ed) that the American people are now against the war ~ Sen. McDermott is quoting Murtha and agreeing with him. Ed asked if he thinks that would help, to withdraw!
Yes, Ed is good today ~ he just played a clip from Scotty McClellan talking about Feingold's motion. Scotty says 'we need to concentrate on the enemy'. Ed slammed him for that.
Now they're talking about Katrina and how nothing has been done ~ McDermott said he can't believe how bad it is, that nothing is being done!!

| 6. Jim McDermott on now; says there is no downside for Dems to sign |
|
It would put pressure on Republicans and put the WH on the defensive.

| 10. Yes, that was great! They're talking about Sen. Tom Harkin also regarding |
|
Feingold. Looks like he too will vote for it. They are making really good points as to how this should show the administration that they 'can't just make these royal pronouncements'.
Ed says Cantwell's office is getting inundated with calls asking her why she is not voting for censure. She's making excuses apparently. A caller who is in her district says he thinks Patti Murray will vote for it, but Cantwell will wait to see how things go and maybe vote for it at the last minute.
I hope he gives out numbers so people can start calling ~ I think this is very important, that all the Dems (and Ed thinks one or two Repubs might do it also) vote for it.
Ed is very upset over the spying ~ says we need to do something about it.

| 11. Omg, Ed says the Republicans are trying to block Feingold's motion!! |
|
He says there is a huge downside for the Republicans if all the Dems vote for it, because Olympia Snowe and a few other Republicans might feel pressured to go along with it! He said the 'Senate is protectiing Bush'. They are using a Parliamentary motion to block Feingold'
Ed says 'if that is not evidence of guilt I don't know what is'
He's playing Feingold live 'The president's conduct was wrong ..... in moments of our history like this, we are reminded of the balance of powers' :woowoo:
Ed says Feingold has lit a fire and the Dems need to jump all over it now ~ what a historical day. You get the feeling this may be the beginning of an impeachment motion ~ and the Republicans KNOW it!! They are fighting hard to cover Bush's crimes.

| 12. SEn. Reid on now ~ talking about Repubs Parliamentary Procedure to |
|
stop Feingold.
Reid says that this is a good thing, and it will probably be referred to a Committee for further debate. He says that Cheney and Bush are trying to stop debate ~ and he says this motion of Feingold's will open the door to more debate ~
Reid just called Frist a 'lapdog for the President' ~
Reid nearly said a bad word after listening to a clip of Trent Lott lying about how the American people are 'solidly behind the president on the war on terror'. He had to stop himself ~
This is one of Ed's best shows so far ~ he's had great guests, great callers, and he's really doing a good job of supporting Feingold and telling the truth ~ 'Feingold grabbing the bull by the horns and doing something about this president'.
Reid: Feingold is a brilliant man, and he's doing the country a great service by introducting this motion, he's a Rhodes scholar etc. etc.'
Reid: 'This administration is impotentent, it's dangerously imcompetent'

| 14. You're welcome ~ it's been a great show today ~ I couldn't watch tv |
|
so I appreciate Ed's coverage and the guests he had ~ he just said 'Bush's numbers are in the toilet' ~ 36%
'Sen. Feingold just gave Sen. Spectre a copy of the resolution to Censure Bush ~
I am so glad Feingold did this. I thought Bush et al were going to get away with it ~ but this has brought it back to the forefront and it looks like there will be hearings. I got the impression that Reid might not be voting for it, but recommending it go to a committee. Sounds like the beginning of impeachment hearings to me ~
