| Need advice re: our current police state |
|
My brother-in-law's birthday is next week, and we're having a big family get-together for it (we're all Democrats). I wanted to do something fun for it, so I printed a bunch of photos of Bush - disgusting - then made drawings from them to get a sense of scale of his features.
Then I made a pinata of him from my drawings, painted it, and it looks just like him. For fun I embedded a sound chip in it so every time it's whacked his head makes a whooping monkey sound.
I was going to leave it empty, to symbolize his empty head, but then decided to fill it with symbols of greed, warmongering and incompetence. That's all done and it's ready for the show.
Unfortunately, my sister has turned paranoid and is afraid that if any neighbors see us they can turn us in to the feds. My feeling is that it's just a party toy and I'd never advocate hitting anyone in real life with a stick regardless of crimes against humanity.
Have we just become totally cowed to our soviet-style democracy that we can't hit a Bush pinata for fear of a visit from The Man? Or is her fear justified? Now I'm not sure what to do with it.

| 1. Is anyone going to really be able to tell it's him? |
|
Does it resemble him that much?

I even gave him a stupid expression, so it REALLY resembles him.

|
I dunno, I don't think anyone is really going to bother with it.

| 13. If you have a Freeper on either side, you might want to move it |
|
indoors. Or not. But Freepers have a nasty habit of calling Homeland Security on anybody who disses their little tin Jesus in the White House.
I'd invite my neighbors for what you're planning, and I'm sure the whacks would be prodigious ones. I know my neighbors well, though, and they all despise Fuckwit and what he's done to this country.

If anything happens, like a visit from Bush's Waffen SS -- I mean Dept. of Homeland Security -- sue the bastards.

| 6. In this day and age, you are wise to be worried. |
|
Some wingnut neighbor can call the FBI and say you made threats against the pResidunce. You could be visited by some agents.
If you can't do it somewhere where prying eyes can't see, I'd come up with an alternative.

I took it over to my sister's house last night - she loved rapping it to hear the monkey sounds - and I'll be over there in the next day or so and I'll get a picture.

| 8. your paranoia is a measure of our state |
|
Edited on Wed Mar-15-06 05:57 PM by Neil Lisst
Our state is one where we are honestly afraid of doing things all Americans took for granted before George Bush's second term.
We are fearful of ridiculing and striking out metaphorically at this pretender to the throne.
It's a good thing he can't serve another term.
