From Rolling Stone review of VfV. V for Vendetta http://www.rollingstone.com/reviews/movie/_/id/7222868/rid/9440903/?rnd=1142794248890&has-player=unknownMad as hell and out to rile up a politically lethargic youth audience, V for Vendetta sometimes trips on its ambitions. But who gives a damn? At least this grabber of a movie actually has ambitions, which makes it unique in a brain-dead multiplex. Better yet, V packs an urgent filmmaking energy that pins you to your seat.

In the Wachowski update, England is a police state ruled by Chancellor Sutler (John Hurt), a fear-mongering, gay-bashing, Islam-hating dictator who strips citizens of their civil rights and religious freedoms in exchange for protection from bioweapons of mass destruction. When life imitates (and in this case inspires, of course) art...

I think the author should've just used the word "articulate:.
The way it's written now leaves the possibility that the Pres is indeed articulate to some extent. Just not as articulate as "the chancellor".

| 3. Wow, there are some nutty reviews |
|
A couple of the reviewers seem to make the movie's point for it. "If I'd known that Pro Homo stuff was in it, I wouldn't have seen it?"
Yikes.
