As a science teacher and a Christian I get real amused at the ignorance of so many in the Christian right. I was told by my pastor's wife that she had to tell her son (who was in my class)that I was wrong about the Big Bang Theory. I asked her what part of the theory I was wrong about? I told her the theory itself is neutral about what caused the Bang. It simply states it happened. She said it was that I had told the kids the Earth was billions of years old and all Christians should know it was less than 10,000.
