| In South Dakota, Rounds' Approval Plummets After Signing Abortion Ban |
|
Fourteen points in one month. That's a good start- South Dakota Gov. Mike Rounds’ (R) job approval dropped to 58% from 72% last month, after he signed a bill outlawing most abortions in the state, according to a new SurveyUSA poll.http://politicalwire.com/archives/2006/03/20/in_south_dakota_rounds_approval_plummets.htmlDon't piss off the sisters :woohoo:

It's easy to forget in the midst of the rw media spin that pro-privacy and pro-choice is a majority position.
It would be interesting to see analysis -- is anything else going on in South Dakota to cause such a disturbance in the Force?
:wow: and :woohoo:

Just because they ACT like everybody is anti-choice and anti-privacy, doesn't make it true. The fact is, they're trying to legislate the personal beliefs of a minority and force that opinion on the rest of us. This is what happens when people start to wake up to their agenda -- approval ratings go in the toilet and people have trouble getting re-elected. Something for all the RW elected officials to think about.

Down from 68%, so their drop mirrors his drop as a whole, as well as his drop among males (14%). He just angered everyone equally. http://www.surveyusa.com/client/PollTrack.aspx?g=092306be-e054-4919-a24c-23b98295658a&x=21566,2

or at least a valid referendum on the law. It's hard to trust the SCOTUS on this. However, 58% is not quite enough.

who should surely know better, continue to buy into the idea that the United States has turned into Right-Wing Fundie Land That Time Forgot? They have access to the same polls we do. Rounds should have known he was shooting himself in the foot signing that law, just like all those idiots in Washington who did the Fundies bidding on the Terri Schaivo case only to discover NOBODY supported their actions.
It's not Rocket Science folks. You sign this sort of Neanderthal law, and people are going to get pissed off.
