Perish the thought. They do enough harm to American just in the few days they do work: The patriot act, the Iraqi invasion, and much more. Haven't they done enough damage? If they were to work full time, our country would be even worse off. WE are much safe while they are off taking their bribes, traveling on overseas junkets and going to play golf in foreign lands.

3. Dick Durbin stated that he spent 70% of each day fundraising

I assume that other senators are the same, and since the congresscritters have so much more competition, they have to work even harder for their bread, bribes, etc.

If the a GOP held congress spent that 70% concocting new plans, tax cuts, and limitations on civil rights, abortion and privacy, we would be much worse off.

No one understands how much they do in their districts non-fundraising wise. I'd have them in session one more day a week, tops, and one fewer recess. That's it.

To even start to undo the damage. Even if the Democrats take control of both Houses this year, anything that even attempts to repair the damage will face veto. But at least we can start some serious investigations and stop passing bills that increase the misery.
