| 1. Actually, they want chaos, instability. |

Would not be to Bushco's advantage to have Iraq succeed at a stable, government - whether democracy or theocracy. They wouldn't need us either way and would kick us out. They must remain dependent on the US so we can maintain a presence in their country and the ME.

The idea is controlling people without having to expend lots of money and resources. The answer? The same answer the Catholic Church has had for 2000 years: plant the enemy within the person's own brain. Have this "religion" keep the subject totally focused on the small foibles of himself and his neighbors, especially the female ones. That way, he can't see the larger evils that are engulfing him. Give this "religion" magical powers, which give (false) hope, and have these powers contigent on "believing", which impart a sense of guilt so that the subject will blame himself when things go wrong. Give the religious "righteous" ways to blow off the inevitable steam that will occur in such restrictive circumstances: suicide bombing, stoning (especially of women), etc.
Tie this religion to the government, and you have a very successful form of human control for the few who want the resources of the earth for themselves.
Oh, and censor the truth. Better yet, make people not want the truth. Make it too hard, too boring, too unacceptable. Fast food bread and media circuses instead.
It's all about control.
Period.

from the repugs I talk with, they are hoping that they'll all just kill each other over there. Genocide would be fine with these sick bastards that talk to me about this. Sick, sick bastards. That's why they don't care and actually welcome the notion that Bush & Co. could just 'nuke 'em all.'

| 6. No. They do not want a theocracy and here's why. |

Initially they wanted a central government they could control. They attempted that and failed. Wrong guys won. A theocracy would almost have to be Shiite. They have no love for the US. They would kick us out. An Iranian theocracy would be for control but not for us controlling them. Period. They (edit for clarity: they = Neocons) want chaos as noted astutely above. They can have Sunni and Shiite and Kurds fighting each other and needing the US and the US able to control them. Because there would be no unified force to confront us. Historyically, that is what the crusaders did.... with the same religious groups! and in the same way, for the same purpose hundreds of years ago. Tried and true tactics.
Endless war (for all intents and purposes) in all the middle east..... untile peak oil and climatic crap out stop it all. Not far away, I bet.
