| Al Gore vid by Spike Jonze ONLINE >>link |
|
I saw this post at DailyKos about a video that Spike Jonze made in 2000 of Al Gore at home with the fam. This is a great video, and it should have been aired in 2000. It's 13 minutes long. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-29385328971143264&q=al+gore

He would make such an outstanding Pres. I have been in the same room with him, heard him say he's a 'reformed politician' but I would vote for him in a heartbeat. :fingerscrossedsmilie:

That was such a HUMAN looking Al. I am so impressed with him and I loved the courtesy and respect that he showed his mother. I agree totally that he would have won that election if people could have seen THIS Al Gore.

| 6. A very human Al Gore comes forth in this video. |

Please, someone tell me why the American public never saw this.
I don't know if it would have turned the election, but it might have helped turn some people's opinions of Al around as far as his personal qualities go.
The only time he sounded like the familiar 2000, somewhat smarmy wooden Al Gore was when he was apologizing to his mother--well we've all been a little insincere when making excuses to our moms so I'll give him a pass on that. Aside from that he as a thoughtful, funny guy with a great family.
I'd love to have a beer with this guy and so would most people.

| 11. I remember that some 2000 Dem convention coverage mentioned it |

... but very briefly (though in positive tones). I don't recall whether it was ever broadcast during the election. http://www.time.com/time/archive/preview/0,10987,997797,00.htmlPersonally I would have loved to have seen him roasting that turkey in the fireplace (something described by Tommy Lee Jones, from when they were college roomies): http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0008/16/se.03.htmlhttp://tks.nationalreview.com/archives/051929.asp
