|
It's derived from the name of Astarte, a pagan god, so his kids have to call it the "Feast Of the Resurrected Lamb" or some such inanity.
The same guy won't let his kids go trick-or-treating (pagans again) - and boy does he HATE the Clintons!
They're crazy. I really see no other explanation.

to hear Christians using the Old Testament. If they followed Jesus's teachings they would know that one of the big ones is that he was the fulfillment of the OT. The old rules no longer applied. Oops, I guess they forgot to read that part.

The type of war not waged with gunshots but the type that forces the power holding base to be accountable for the actions and harm they've caused humanity. Likewise they should be doing the same thing only with Islam in the middle east.
Without apology I say the institution of religion is the most corrupt organization with more blood on its hands than any single other body.

| 28. It depends on whose Christianity you're referring to |
|
If it's the evangelicals, like Dobson, Robertson, etc., I think there may be a war coming. They don't really represent God or the teachings of The Bible. They promote hatred, discrimination. They judge others. They cast the first stone. They do not turn the other cheek. They are only Christians because they say they are. And people believe them, without questioning why they aren't very God like.
But the true Christians, who try to do what The Bible says are a completely different group. They try not to judge others. They try to give others the benefit of the doubt, and they largely are not happy with what they see from the others. They know it is wrong to condemn others, even if they are viewed as doing something wrong.
I think the true Christians are going to have to say anything other than what is taught in The Bible is not Christian. The do as I say, not as I do crowd needs to stop proclaiming themselves as Christians. They are most definitely not Christians except by their own standards.

You will soon see that they couldn't be further removed from the truth. People do not question this, they accept it and believe (or convince themselves) that they are doing the right thing.
They need to remember about the false prophet and the wolf in sheep's clothing.

I wouldn't exactly call HATE GREED WAR & INTOLERANCE "new" gods. They have been around since the very inception of organized religion. In fact, these "gods" were the very inspiration for religion's creation and the only justification for it's continued existence.

I suggest these persecuted Christoids go to China or Afghanistan to find what they're looking for (victimhood).
But in a country where there's a Christian church on every other corner and the squatter in the White House loudly proclaims his Christian belief, they've only got martyrdom "lite." Very, very "lite."

|
Really great odds there.
I have come to the realization that the so-called "War on Christianity" is a Dominionist-inspired media smokescreen designed to draw attention away from the Taliban-isation of America by the Rushdooney Right...
According to the U of Minn, 65% of people hate me and other Atheists MORE than they hate Gays. And we (the self-identifying Atheists) amount to only about 3% of the population, while self-identified Christians make up around 85%.
Now, I don't know about you, but if I'm so all-fired POWERFUL to wage "war" on 85% of the population with only 3% of the people with me, why ain't I telling TinMan Cheney what to do?
Y'know, the "flock" parable is very appropo here, because if you 85%'ers think 3% are at "war" with you, then you really ARE "sheep".
Pay no attention to that nice old man on TV who tells you how to raise your kids in a minute (Dobson). He's looking out for Murka.
