What he's talking about is any occupation where it's easy for the employer to ignore wage, health, and safety regulations. And, actually, Americans would do those jobs. But what we wouldn't do is remain silent about underpayment, illegal treatment, and unsafe working conditions.

He made it sound like they didn't change countries but he did. Not only was it a stupid thing to say, it also implied that, as new citizens, they should be more focused on him, as their president, than on the country to which they just pledged their allegiance.
