| Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, etc., should have just skipped the whole thing. |
|
And I include the rest of the world's organized religions in this.
IMO, if those guys were around today to see what they'd started, they wouldn't have started it. Who knows? Moses may have become a state-of-the-art shepard, Jesus may have built the first matching bedroom set, and Muhammad may have been a brilliant -- whatever he was before he got sidetracked into messing with people's minds.
It's impossible to calculate the number of human beings slaughtered throughout history in the name of some God. Yeah, yeah, I know, it's not God who did it. It was his followers. Well, today's followers are having quite a field day. Gosh, religious dogma and bloodbaths can really make ya feel so righteous and holy.
I see nothing wrong with individuals having faith and practicing or worshiping whoever/whatever they want to, as long as it doesn't affect anyone else. But it hasn't worked out that way, has it?
Fanatical, religious lunatics are on a mission to make us all live our lives their way, or kill us off. I, for one, couldn't give a rat's ass if they all killed each other off as quickly as possible.
Unfortunately, the rest of us are all caught in the middle.

| 4. Sorry, Jesus was not a prophet so can't be lumped into your theory... |
|
Lately, people have been putting Jesus on the same level as Muhammad and Moses, etc. If you know anything about the story of Jesus, one would never categorize him in this way...
Remember, the story goes, he came to 'fulfill the law'. He was the only one on his level...
Now, flame away if you must!

And I am as good an authority as any of the others who actually wrote decades after his death and who never met him.

| 23. Google: Did Jesus really exist? Scholars say: No Shred of Historical |
|
evidence. The historians of the day were very exact re book-keeping & reporting crucifixions/ miracle workers-names & places etc. NO ONE resembled the man of the Gospels. Period!
The Catholic church needed a god & created the Jesus character (greatest story ever SOLD) out of former saviour/sun god myths from history. The Sermon on the mount etc. were directly from the Essene's literature.
The entire Bible was re-written/edited several times by the Catholic church, & as a catholic, I remember how proud catholic history is of the Council of Nicea / Council of Trent etc. in which this was done & redone.
Most Christians are unaware of early christianity. True--no one who started or continued the Jesus story EVER knew anyone resembling this person-Jesus/Yeshua.
The one' historical' reference was written into later editions of Josephus' historical account of the supposed time of Jesus - again by the Catholic church.
Googling: errors of the Bible/old and then new testaments is also very interesting....Thinking of the Control & Bloodshed for centuries is horrifying!!

Let's just come up with something to neutralize testosterone. No more territorial disputes. No chest thumping and bumping. No "SHE MY WOMAN NOT YOURS!" arguments. No weapons.
Imagine...

than the ones they were following. None really intended to start a religion. It was those that came after them who used their teachings and sometimes distorted them to create dogma and religions based on holy scriptures, holy rites and holy places.

I really dont think you can argue with that, and then his name and ideas were coopted by the Roman Empire as a tool of controlling the masses and the rest is history. The empire he hoped would be brought down because people followed a new ethic of resistance.
