Majority in poll prefer Democracy over Diebold

When asked if they would give their vote in a hypothetical match-up to Diebold or Democracy, a large majority chose Democracy. Of those polled, 78% chose Democracy, 14% were unfamiliar with the subject, and 7% chose Diebold. Some of those who preferred Democracy were quite definite in their choice. "Gimme a break!" said Sylvia Stetson, in reaction to the Diebold choice. A surprising number were unfamiliar with the issue, saying thngs like "Huh?" A spokesman for Diebold said that they would have a poll showing exactly 53.1% preferring Diebold available "in the next 24 hours." No spokesman for Democracy could be found, although many respondents voluteered the opinion that the question was a "dumb" one.
