Omaha firefighters rescued a worker Monday who was hanging from a safety harness on the outside of the Wells Fargo Bank building near 20th and Douglas Streets.
When firefighters responding to a call arrived at 1919 Douglas St. at 11 a.m., they found scaffolding and one man dangling about 30 feet off the ground, Fire Battalion Chief Dan Olsen said.
Another worker already had climbed down to the ground. Neither man was injured. Their names were not released.
Olsen said an aerial firetruck extended a platform basket to rescue the dangling worker. Firefighters also brought the scaffolding safely to the ground.
The incident began when a motor lowered one end of the scaffold but the other end remained in place, Olsen said.
