An employee of a Perris-based trash hauling company was killed when the vehicle he was working on fell on him, a CAL/OSHA spokesman said Friday.
CAL/OSHA is investigating the Wednesday death of the employee, whom the Riverside County coroner's office identified as Rancho Cucamonga resident Efre Aceituno-Deleon, 41.
Aceituno-Deleon was declared dead at Menifee Valley Medical Center at 7 p.m., about 40 minutes after the accident involving a trash truck at CR&R Waste and Recycling Services in Perris, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said.
A state Division of Occupational Safety and Health investigation will include interviewing witnesses and other employees and checking with the company to see if they were properly trained in safety, CAL/OSHA spokesman Dean Fryer said by phone.
Aceituno-Deleon was working on the rear axle of the vehicle when it fell on him, Fryer said.
