OSHA investigates site of teen's death

PORT CHARLOTTE: The family of a teenager killed at a church construction site Sunday in Port Charlotte returned to the scene on Monday.

The accident happened at Seventh Day Adventist church on Harborview Road.

Deputies say 14-year-old Danilo Riccardi Jr. died in a water-filled trench that caved in on him.

His father, Danilo Riccardi Sr., younger brother and a company co-worker were overcome with emotion as they gathered construction supplies near the trench.

An Occupational Safety and Health Administration compliance officer investigated the site Monday.
