Organizing
CWA, AT&T: Some 600 AT&T customer service representatives in Dover, N.H., have voted to join the Communications Workers of America (CWA) Local 1298, becoming the largest union local to organize in New Hampshire since 1966, when 950 workers organized at the Granite Rubber Co. with the Pulp and Sulphate Union.

AFSCME, Los Alamos Medical Center: Nurses at Los Alamos Medical Center in Los Angeles have voted in favor of representation by AFSCME affiliate National Union of Hospital and Health Care Employees (NUHHCE).

Work Stoppages
USW, HealthSource Saginaw: In Saginaw, Mich., community, religious and labor leaders gathered in front of HealthSource Saginaw for an informational picket to support registered nurses, represented by the United Steelworkers (USW), seeking a first labor contract from the public hospital.

Settlements
CSEA-AFSCME, New York State: Some 70,000 New York state workers in four largely blue-collar and clerical bargaining units, represented by the AFSCME affiliate Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) Local 1000, approved a four-year contract on Jan. 4. The agreement would increase pay by 3 percent retroactive to April 2, 2007, by 3 percent on April 1, 2008, 3 percent on April 1, 2009, and 4 percent on April 1, 2010. The contract requires approval by the state Legislature and the governor before it takes effect.
