ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
04/05/2008
The St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission and the three audiovisual unions that work at the America's Center reached an agreement Friday to end the labor agreement deadlock that has kept union members from their jobs at the center since March 24.
A general consensus was reached in a joint meeting of representatives from the CVC; the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 1; International Alliance of Theatrical State Employees, Locals 6 and 143; the Greater St. Louis Labor Council; and the offices of Mayor Francis Slay and County Executive Charles Dooley, according to a joint statement issued by the parties.
"The CVC will welcome the return of union workers no later than Friday, April 11," the statement said.
No other details were released.
The CVC dismissed the 150 union members after no deal had been reached on new work rules after 16 months of talks.
