| Anyone been to Iran? Recommend any tour agencies? |
|
I want to see Persia before we totally screw it up as we did Iraq. I've been told it's friendly and safe, but I"m not sure which tourist agency to go with. I came across a website called Destination Iran, but they arrange private tours with a driver and guide, and I'd rather go with a group of people because I enjoy meeting other tourists from around the world.
Any advice?

Our friends say it is kind of iffy for Americans right now, and he advises we should wait until 2008 after the elections and Ahmadinajhad is booted in elections (a certainty he says).
I'll take his advice, he has family there.

| 2. That's too bad about the iffy travel part |

I keep reading how Iranians are so very friendly to visiting Americans. I can't imagine it would be dangerous right now, though. In fact, I find that the safest places to travel are places where the US hasn't meddled recently. I went to Libya last year and have never felt safer!

| 3. Interesting destination, I know alot of Germans go there |

I heard something on the radio the other night about Libya. I was just in the UAE and I never felt safer either, and that country is 95% Muslim. Bush has done so much damage, but thankfully there are still people who think America is a beacon of hope and freedom. :)
