Is there such a thing as "slow" breast cancer?

Cancer is cancer, yes. My g/f was diagnosed with a slow-moving breast cancer at age 61.

Or is that a term used when doctors "catch it early"?

Some cancers are not very large, but are very aggressive and quickly invade other body parts. Other cancers just grow slowly and stay in one place. I believe it is because of the level of certain hormones in the body. I hope your girlfriend has the slow moving kind, but she should take action quickly and get it removed.

My cancer had already spread to my liver when I found it. I chose not to have surgery because it was already loose in my body. The lesions in my liver grow faster than my breast cancer. It just sits there maintaining its size. That cancer will not do me in, but the ones in my liver will.

2. Entering that phase.....

My wife had B/C 8 yrs ago. Double mastectomy, clean margins, reconstruction, no sign of it since........until yesterday. After going in for a sonagram on her gall bladder, which was okay, they discovered lesions on her liver. Awaiting results of CT scan and bone scan. I know liver cancer is pretty much terminal, 3-6 months. Hopefully the lesions are just benign, but something is wrong because she has been experiencing pain in her liver area and severe back pain. Maybe you could shed a little light on what we could expect if the DX comes back positive.
