Why even make the comparison in the first place? Sounds condescending any way you put it. Does that give her dad an excuse to cheerlead and mislead on a war that happened in the first place partly because of his lies? I don't think so. My cousin served in Iraq too, but I don't make comparisons with others about it like that. It's not right.

That comment by John McCain's daughter is just ridiculous. There are millions of families that know war just as much or better than the McCain family. I will grant Ms. McCain that she may have made a misstatement, but if she did not her comment is offensive and she owes the families of military personnel and the military personnel themselves an apology. So, why is her statement not getting as much attention as Obama lipstick on a pig comment. I contend her comment is much more offensive than Obama's comment and Obama's comment is not actually offensive.

However, I would like to do a run down of the people who know war just as much or better than John McCain's family. 4,000+ families know war just as much or better than John McCain's family. 20,000+ families and military personnel from the Iraq war know war just as much or better than the John McCain's family. In addition, the countless who have been injured during previous wars know war just as much or better than John McCain. 1 million + families know war just as much or better than John McCain's family. It is not just the John McCain family that knows the effects of war. However, for a while I have been feeling that John McCain or those around him do actually feel that way.

After seeing clips of John McCain's speech I came away with the feeling that he acts as if he is the only person to have seen the effects of war. My whole thinking after those clips was John McCain is not the only one to have things like this happen to him; there were just so many others who do not make as much of a big deal about what happened.
