| 1. Does Alaska want her back? |
|
Isn't she an embarrassment to Alaska, too? (Saying that she belongs in Alaska is an insult to many Alaskans.)

| 4. "They" claim that we elected GWB twice, too ... |
|
... but we didn't.
I agree, though, that it seems far more likely that enough like "minded" people exist in Alaska to have actually elected her without any dirty tricks!

| 13. I heard on Ring of Fire today a discussion with someone from Alaska ... |
|
... who said that Palin did all her campaigning when running for governor in the churches, and she has a certain "wink and nod" way of using code words to let the extreme right religious base know what she'll do on abortion, gay relationships (forget the marriage issue; she arranged to deny basic civil rights, such as hospital visitation), "ownership" of medical bills, etc., while hiding behind what she would do *personally* in those situations for debate purposes. She plans to work to deny rights long fought for, and substitute her extreme religious views, as the law of the land.
Personal religious views should be on the table during a presidential campaign when those views contradict the Constitution.
Gwen Ifill really blew it when she failed to question Sarah Palin on abortion. This soft glove approach for this poor fragile woman who is just finding her way into national politics and shouldn't be embarrassed OVER HER TOTAL LACK OF QUALIFICATIONS TO OBTAIN TO THE HIGHEST OFFICE IN THE WORLD is frightening. Put up or shut up because our whole future depends on knowing who we are electing. (We hope we actually get to elect them.)

I can picture the discussion on how if she should make sure that she pronounces it as "nucular" the way the common folks do, not that elite "nuclear" crowd. I hate wasting my thoughts on things like that, but this campaign's mindset is so bizarre that it wouldn't surprise me. Just wondering if I was the only one who had that thought. (Now that I think about it, I may be reiterating was tclambert said)

| 6. Yes! I agree heartily. Can't stand it much more. I might go nucular myself ... |
|
... if I keep hearing that bastardization of a perfectly good (though frightening) word.

| 9. She lives in the land of Booty Pageant Make Believe, and expresses herself the same way. |
|
She is still the little girl strutting around in the plastic high heels, playing dress up, and pretending to be a beauty queen and a mother. Everything about her and around her are "props", including her children. God, how she must hate them for denigrating her crafted, perfected, coquettish image!

she throws those insults at Obama is very similar IMHO to the way two gossipy women would be talking to each other at the Beauty Parlor. That particular personality type is like nails on a blackboard to me and not statesman/woman. If McCain/Palin do steal the election, I will have to claw my eardrums out.
