Honestly, if it had been me (tall, relatively muscular, mid-20s white guy), the cop wouldn't have done any of that. She was a black, female minor, so he "knew" he was being cheated, no matter what the facts were.

It's good she got the $60,000, which actually seems fair to me, but he should have been kicked off the force and never allowed to even be a mall security guard after something like that. He was totally mistaken, and when proven to be mistaken, decided to abuse his authority and threaten a citizen (and a minor at that) with arrest, and then assaulted that citizen.

Leaving aside the whole idiocy of "pro-cop" being a negative quality (and indeed, such a negative one that it's apparently a quality of Freepers), Freepers aren't supportive of the officer because he's a cop, but because the girl is black. They're just racist asses. If the cop had been black and the cashier girl had been white, their comments would be about that "nigger cop" harassing that poor, innocent white girl.
