it saddens me that Alaska's politicians have defiled the good name of so many Alaskans. (I do admit there is a kook element in Alaska, but not all of them are nuts.)

23. SELDOVIA!! YEA! I don't know if you remember this but a friend

of mine who has a summer home there and taught there for years tells me about the mayor of Seldovia at the time: he got bombed, wiped out drunk, got into his jeep and decided to drive home to Seldovia from the Homer Spit. He drove into the inlet of course and when the police pulled him out, he declared diplomatic immunity! My favorite Seldovia story.
