MSNBC political analyst Lawrence O'Donnell says to David Shuster that Sarah Palin handled herself relatively well during a prank call today, but that her staff have let her down again and again.

The phone number coming up should've been a clue, but more so, they should've known Sarkozy's voice and the fact that he doesn't speak English well. I don't follow international politics like I should, and even I knew that wasn't his voice at all.

she "handles herself well", at least not in my book.

Stonewalling is an old and useful tool when it comes to politics. But at best it's a temporary fall-back measure when you have no idea how to respond appropriately to something. For Palin, stonewalling seems to be her only tool.
